SSBB discussion, among other things. So, do we have any (other) players?

There were quite a few that play it at the June LAN most of the night.

There will definitely be more next time.

Let's start this thread off with tips on how to win the next tourney ( The better the competition, the more fun it gets). I can help answer anyone has questions like how to use a certain character, or mindgame tatics, jargon fighting games and this game imparticular uses (frame advantage, fox-trotting), or situational setups. I will also find vids or links to threads that might help out your Brawl game, because it will get boring if my team is the only team winning anything.

no L canceling =   ???

To be honest, l canceling would not be much help given the speed of the game, but some characters can still do a faux version of it.
wario
ike
bowser
peach
R.O.B.
chars that have air moves with large frame times

all you have to do is hit shield as you land if you are certain move frames (go to training mode to figure it out).

While we are on this subject, some chars have the ability to do some of the omitted techniques that where in melee.
Ex. Peach CAN wavedash, so can Sonic (maybe more but i haven't found them yet).

Also some techs basically do the same thing as they did in melee, just with different properties. Dash-dancing is still in, however, it is now called "fox-trotting". To fox-trot, just keep tapping foward dash, but don't go into running motion. What makes this different is that your player can trip over itself, leaving you vunerable. if you use it in short burst, you can actually move faster than just running (this helps bowser players a LOT!!!)

to find the latest smash techniques, check out smashboards.com.

NOTE: for anyone who would like to main Pikachu, go to youtube and search for "quick attack cancel v2" or QAC V2. that is why Pikachu is the boss.

Or smashwiki, that helps too.

Either way, do we know if there will be a SSBB tourney next month?

EDIT: Scratch that, in 2 months, I just saw the notice.

I will host it if not sponsered.

Either way, I guess it gives me time to set up a pot/prize, and help set up the format.

I'd like to know ASAP so I can notify some other boards if we're having it or not (Smashboards, Allisbrawl, Shoryuken, Smashwiki, etc.)

Jelli,

What are you rules going to be?

I would like to get them added to the sign up page soon.
